This research starts from the perspective that space user’s environment psychological behavior is complementary related to physically surrounded and continuous space experience. Visual axis which is formed in Kim, Ki-Hyun House is divided into outside to inside way and, inside to outside way to examine structural characteristic visual frame. In the eyes of the user's point of view from the outside to the inside of Architecture is solid space contrast to the void space of outdoor spaces. Line type elements like pillars and safety lintel eaves which forms the visual frame is visually extended and recognized as plane, and each element’s combination is recognized as whole outline, and three dimensional form. This has given the direction to the movement of a place that is continuously extended for the purpose. Visual frame that is formed from the user's point of view from the inside to the outside in the visual direction is the boundary of the shaded incrementally is set and the segment is extended. Continuously divided shade change is overlapped vertically through observer’s visual direction, and this composition forms surrounding layer of observers themselves, and also forms depth of space which have conceptual centrality. This is not just outside architectural environment but recognized as space layer which surrounds the observer itself, and have psychological buffer of causal property.

본 연구는 공간 사용자의 환경 심리적 행태가 물리적으로 에워싸고 연속되는 공간체험과 상보적 관계에 있다는 관점에서 출발하였으며, 김기현 가옥에서 형성되는 시선 축을 외부에서 내부로, 내부에서 외부로 구분하여 시각 틀의 구성적 특징을 살펴보았다. 사용자의 시점에서 외부에서 내부로의 시선은 ‘실(solid)의 공간’인 건축물과 ‘허(void)의 공간’인 외부공간으로 대비되며 시각적 틀(frame)을 이루는 기둥과 인방보 처마 등의 선적인 요소는 시각적으로 확장되어 면으로 인지되고, 각 요소의 조합이 전체적 윤곽으로 지각되어 전체화되며, 입체적 형상으로 종합되어 인지된다. 이는 연속적으로 확장되어 목적하는 장소로의 움직임에 방향성을 부여하고 있다. 사용자의 시점에서 내부에서 외부로 바라보는 시선방향에서 형성되는 시각 틀은 점증적으로 음영(陰影)의 경계가 설정되고 분절되며 확장된다. 분절되며 연속되는 음영(陰影) 변화는 관찰자 시선의 방향과 수직면으로 중첩되며, 이와 같은 구성은 사용자 시점에서 자신을 에워싸는 형태의 층(layer)을 형성하며, 개념적 중심성을 가지는 공간 깊이를 형성한다. 이는 외적인 건축 환경으로 그치는 것이 아니라 그것 자체로서 관찰자를 에워싸는 공간의 층(layer)으로 지각되며 그에 따르는 인과적 속성의 심리적 완충의 의미를 가진다.
