The purpose of this study was to examine the priorities upon municipalities' host feasibility for sport events. For this study, totally 14 people(5 officers who in charge of sport events in municipalities, 5 experts in academic circles, 2 experts in public research institutes and 2 managers in corporates who have experience of sport events held by municipalities) by using purposeful sampling were selected. Expert Choice 2000 and Microsoft Office Excel 2007 were used for AHP(analytic hierarchy process) analysis, and the results of analysis were as follows. The order of priority in the assessment is economic value, operational efficiency, visitors' satisfaction, environmental conditions and facility conditions. The priority in the whole assessment shows that economic feasibility, security of budget, professional manpower, connectivity with tourist sites, ripple effect and transportation hold high ranks.

이 연구는 지방자치단체의 스포츠이벤트 유치 타당성 우선순위를 살펴보고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 지 방자치단체 스포츠이벤트 유치 및 운영 관련 공무원 5명, 학계의 전문가 5명, 공공연구기관의 전문가 2명, 지방자치단 체에서 개최한 스포츠이벤트 관련 실무경험이 있는 기업의 실무담당자 2명 등 총 14명을 유목적 표집(purposeful sampling)하였다. 자료처리는 AHP(analytic hierarchy process) 분석을 위해 Expert Choice 2000 및 Microsoft Office Excel 2007을 활용하였으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 평가영역의 우선순위는 경제적 가치, 운영의 효율성, 방 문객만족, 일반환경여건, 스포츠시설여건의 순으로 나타났다. 전체 평가항목 운선순위를 통한 분석결과를 살펴보면 경 제성, 예산확보, 전문인력운영, 관광지와의 연계성, 파급효과, 교통 순으로 상위에 위치하였다.
