Since 1970s, there has been increasing number of study and theories that focus on victim’s characteristics, especially lifestyle and routine activities of the victims (e.g., Routine Activities Theory & Lifestyle-Exposure Theories), However, there is relatively little study focus on lifestyle and routine activities and crime victimization. In addition, most of prior inquiry has been limited in juvenile delinquent behaviors and Western societies. Therefore, the primary purpose of the current study is to examine the relationships between lifestyles/routine activities and crime victimization. In particular, using Korean Crime Victim Survey (2012), the current study is to investigate the effects of lifestyle and routine activities on violent, property, and sex related crimes. The main findings from logistic regression analyses reveal that lifestyle had a positive impact on violent and property crimes. In other words, for violent crimes, come home after drinking and luxury brands positively influence the likelihood of crime victimization while avoidance behaviors had a negative effect on violent crime victimization. Come home after 10 PM also had a positive impact on property crime victimization.

본 연구의 목적은 일상활동이론과 생활양식이론을 바탕으로 특정한 일상행동 및 생활양식이 범죄피해 위험성에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국형사정책연구원과 통계청이 공동으로 실시한 전국범죄피해조사(2012) 통계자료를 이용하여 범죄피해 위험성을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 주요결과에 따르면, 폭력범죄의 경우 피해자가 만취귀가를 하거나 고가브랜드 및 명품 의류를 착용하는 것이 범죄피해 확률은 유의미한 정의 관계를 형성한 반면 회피행동은 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 재산범죄의 경우에는 10시 이후 늦은 귀가 패턴이 재산범죄 피해의 확률을 높이는 것으로 보고되었다.
