최근 개인정보 등 내부정보유출 사건을 계기로 다양한 산업군에서 정보보호를 위해 각고의 노력을 기울이고 있다. 그 일환으로 정보보호 관련 인증을 획득하 는 방법을 택하고 있는 곳들이 많다. 그러나 정보보호인증이라는 컨셉 자체가 기업 또는 기관의 정보보호 전반에 대한 정보와 자료를 외부에 노출하는 것으로 인증심사 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 다양한 정보유출의 가능성을 내포하고 있다 고 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 정보보호와 관련된 다양한 인증심사의 방식에 대한 문제점을 제시하거나 새로운 모델을 제시하는 형태의 기존 논문과는 다른 시각 으로 인증심사 과정도 피심사기관의 입장에서는 또 하나의 내부정보유출의 경로 가 될 수 있으며 인증이라는 특성을 이용한 특수한 형태의 내부정보유출이 가능 하다는 것을 입증하려 한다. 인증을 획득한 많은 기업의 담당자들이 이와 같은 위험요인을 인지하고 있으나 인증을 획득하는 것이 목표이기 때문에 어쩔 수 없 이 정보보호와 관련된 다양한 자료와 실사를 지원하게 된다. 정보보호에 대해 체계화를 유도하고 정보보호의 수준을 한 단계 높이며 그에 대한 공신력을 부여 해야 하는 인증이 단순하게 획득의 목표로만 취급되어 실질적인 정보보호에 기 여하지 못하고 있는 모습은 매우 안타깝다. 본 논문은 인증심사 간 피심사기관 의 정보가 유출될 수 있는 다양한 원인들을 파악하고 이를 해소할 수 있는 방안 을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 나아가 모두가 신뢰할 수 있는 인증심사가 되기 위해서는 심사기관과 인증심사원, 피심사기관의 끊임없는 노력이 필요하겠지만 특히, 인증심사 간 피심사기관의 정보보호에 있어서는 본 논문이 이에 기여할 수 있기를 바란다.
