It is found that hair growth is controlled or regulated entirely by interactions between epithelial and mesenchymal cells in hair follicle. Out of hair growth factors, both epidermal growth factor(EGF) and transforming growth factor(TGF) has controlling effects on h growth, whereas insulin-dependent growth factor(IGF-I) and hepatocyte growth factor(HGF) have effects as stimulator that induces functional activities. IGF-I controls not only the blood concentration of sugar content, but also the generation of arachidonic acid as one of essential fatty acids comprising hormone. And a constituent of male home(e.g. androgen, testosterone, etc.) called eicosanoid hormone controls hair keratin producing cell, which is produced in proportion to the generation of arachidonic acid
