This paper is based on Christian educational theories and practices, and uses the method of documentary research. Many teachers in Korean churches have a difficult time teaching teenagers in that the teenagers think and act in a way that the teachers would never have imagined when they were young. In this situation, teachers approach students with methods fitting to the teachers’ culture. Strictly speaking, this is a problem of educational methods, not a conflict between teachers and students. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to make a new teaching model for youth in Korean churches on the basis of the combination of different kinds of educational methods in holistic dialectical structure. Specifically, in order to establish a theoretical basis the researcher will examine theories of some Christian education scholars and look at educational methodology according to the Paulo Freire’s teaching system (Banking, Problem-posing, and Praxis). After that, the researcher will make a holistic dialectical teaching model for youth in Korean churches and present concrete examples of teaching practices that can be applied to church education fields. This paper will show one of practical applications of holistic theology, give new insights to Christian education, and help teachers in churches to efficiently, effectively, and systematically teach teenagers.

한국어

본 논문은 기독교교육의 이론과 실제에 관한 것이며, 문헌 연구의 방법을 사용해서 진행된 것이다. 한국교회 많은 중 ‧ 고등부 교회학교 교사들은 청소년들을 가르치는 데 어려움을 겪고 있다. 왜냐하면 현 재의 청소년들은 교사들이 어렸을 때 경험하지 못한 방식으로 생각하 고, 말하고, 행동하기 때문이다. 이러한 상황 속에서 교사들은 자신들 이 느끼기에 편안하고 익숙한 방식의 교육방법을 사용해서 청소년들 에게 말씀을 가르치고 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 이러한 문제가 교사와 학생 사이의 심리적인 갈등 때문에 생겨난 문제라기보다는 다양한 교 육방법을 사용하지 않고 교사들 자신이 익숙한 방법으로 학생들을 가 르쳤기 때문에 생겨난 문제라는 전제를 가지고 출발한다. 본 논문의 목적은 통전적이며 변증법적인 구조 안에서 다양한 교 육방법을 종합하는, 청소년 교육을 위한 새로운 가르침의 모델을 개 발하는 것이다. 구체적으로 살펴보면, 이론적인 기초를 정립하기 위 해 저자는 기독교교육학자들의 몇몇 이론들을 살펴볼 것이며, 파울로 프레이리(Paulo Freire)의 세 가지 교육체계(은행저축식 , 문제제기식 , 프락시스)에 의거해서 교육방법론을 살펴볼 것이다. 그런 다음, 저자는 한국교회 청소년 교육을 위한 통전적 이며 변증법적인 가르침의 모델을 개발할 것이고, 구체적으로 교회학교 현장에 적용할 수 있는 가르침의 실제를 제공할 것이다. 본 논문은 통전적인 신학의 실제적인 적용을 보여주는 논문 이 될 것이며, 기독교교육방법론 연구에 새로운 통찰을 제공해 줄 것 이다. 그리고 한국교회 중, 고등부 교사들이 자신들이 맡고 있는 청소 년들을 효율적으로, 효과적으로, 그리고 체계적으로 가르칠 수 있도 록 작게나마 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.
