This paper reviews pepper research project situation at Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries R&D Information Service (FRIS) (http://www.fris.go.kr) D/B from 2010 to 2015. Result of analysis revealed that major research emphasis was on field cultivation (34.4%), breeding (33.8%), processing and distribution (15.2%), disease and insect (9.3%), other field research areas (7.3%). Maior organizations covering this kind of research are National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science (NIHHS), Seoul National University (SNU), Rural Development Administration (RDA), Chungbuk National University (CNU) etc. There are 52 organizations and 106 researchers involved in the pepper research project. The total budget of pepper research project is 10.3 billion won, and the budget of individual projects vary from 11 million to 500 million won. Projects with budget less than 30 million won account for the 7.9% of the total projects, whereas 28.5% of the projects have budget >30 - <50 million won, 28.5% of the projects have budget >50 - <70 million won, 11.9% of the projects carry budget >70 - <90 million won and 23.2% of the projects have budget exceeding 90 million won. Under this project, 1,009 accomplishments were covered such as education and extension service (177), conference (228), commercialization of results (127), publications (214) and industrial property right (125) etc.
