Local college students are differenciated from Seoul-located university students and they experience discrimination and prejudice. The present paper examines the money-relating daily frustration among local university students compared to Seoul-located college students. For survey, twenty items were constructed in order to figure out daily frustration. About 400 local-college students and about 250 students were interviewed for the survey. As a result of Chi-square analysis, this study finds that local college students are more likely to confront money-relating frustration, compared to the Seoul-located college students. Youth allowance can be suggested for local college students in order to solve their confronting frustration, especially toward the convergence era.

청년 및 대학생의 현실과 미래는 고실업, 저취업, 불안정고용으로 특징지워져 그들의 삶은 불안하며 위태롭다. 특히 지방대학생은 우리나라 청년들이 겪는 문제 외에도 지방대학생으로써 좌절과 차별을 동시에 경험한다. 본 연구는 지방대학생들의 일상적 경제적 좌절을 서울소재 대학생과의 비교를 통해 실증적으로 분석하고 문제의 중요성을 드러내는 데에 목적이 있다. 연구방법으로는 일상적 좌절에 관한 문항을 항목화한 후, 지방대학생 약 400명, 서울소재 대학생 약 250명을 설문조사하였고, 두 집단의 응답의 결과를 카이자승법을 이용해 통계적으로 유의미한 차이인지 규명하였다. 분석 결과 지방대학생들이 서울소재 대학생에 비해서 상대적으로 일상적 경제적 좌절을 더 심하게 겪는다는 것을 확인하였다. 이에 대한 정책제안으로 본 연구는 프랑스 등 외국에서 이미 시행중인 청년수당 정책이 지방대학생의 경제적 좌절을 해결하기 위한 빠른 대안 중 하나일 수 있음을 제안하였다.
