The Internet of Things(IoT) refers to "uniquely identifiable objects and their virtual representations in an Internet-like structure," according to Wikipedia. IoT is an intelligent infrasystem which is based on an open internet network where people, things, data, and processes are interconnected and exchange data and communicate. IoT is expected to be one of the core element of the creative economy as it can produce and supply with novel items in many fields such as home, transportation, energy, health-care and so on. But consequently, a risk of invasion on person's privacy increases. The purpose of this study are suggest policy alternatives of privacy protection in IoT by critically analyzing the present state and actual conditions of IoT. Base on the these analysis, this study suggests policy alternatives in three aspects. First, in the law and institution aspect, it is necessary soft-law approach, legislation to consider privacy on stage of design law, and guarantee self-determination right about personal information. Second, in the security strategy aspect, it is necessary small-light code and techniques, development of integrated security technology, construction of the whole defence security system. Third, in the specific security technology aspect, it is necessary construction of SafeNet Identity and Data Protection solutions, proactive of the origin skill invent about security in IoT. Finally, this study intends to contribute to development and promotion of effective policies for IoT.

이 연구는 우선 사물인터넷의 개념, 사물인터넷의 활용분야 및 의의를 자세히 살펴봄으로써 앞으로 다가올 사물인터넷 시대의 중요성을 부각시키고자 한다. 이러한 논의를 기반으로 하여 이 연구의 목적은 모든 사물들이 인터넷으로 연결되는 사물인터넷 구축은 새로운 환경을 창조하고 이로 인하여 인간의 생활 편리성이 증대될 것으로 예상되는 반면, 사물인터넷 활용으로 인하여 야기될 수 있는 다양한 측면에서의 프라이버시 침해 및 보호 이슈를 제기하고 미래적 차원에서 이에 대한 대안을 모색해 보고자 한다. 사물인터넷 활성화로 인간환경의 편리성은 크게 증대될 것이나 이에 대한 체계적인 대비책이 구축되지 않는다면 오히려 더 큰 역효과가 증대될 것으로 예측된다. 따라서 사물인터넷이 인간생활에 체화되는 반면에 여기에서 나타날 수 있는 전반적이고 총체적인 측면에서 표면화될 수 있는 프라이버시 보호 이슈들을 제기한 바, 여기에서는 개인정보 보호를 위한 방안들로 크게 세 가지 첫째, 법과 제도적 측면에서는 연성법적 접근과 설계당시부터 프라이버시를 고려한 법제화, 개인정보자기결정권 보장 둘째, 보안 전략적인 측면에서는 경량화된 암호와 기법의 적용과 통합보안기술의 개발 그리고 전방위적 보안 시스템 구축의 필요성을 강조하고 셋째, 구체적인 보안기술 측면으로는 세이프넷 개인정보 및 데이터 보호(SafeNet Identity and Data Protection)솔루션 구축과 세계적인 사물인터넷 보안 핵심기술 개발을 위한 사물인터넷의 보안 원천기술에 대한 적극적인 대처 등으로 구분하여 살펴보았다.
