The purpose of this study is to verify various factors that influence recidivism of prisoners. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, prison inmates' satisfaction with job training, rehabilitation services, prison subculture and pains of imprisonment were included as independent variables. The dependent variable of recidivism was coded as a dummy variable and was analyzed using binary logistic regression. This study especially compared the significance of each independent variable using probability limit rather than odds ratio. The secondary data, "Corrective Human Rights Development Index," used in the study was conducted by the Department of Justice in 2013. The analysis resulted that men with lower educational attainment, more awareness of prison subculture and short term prison sentences show higher rates of recidivism. However, this study was conducted through the cross-sectional design due to the limitation of the second data and could include more extensive variables in a follow-up study.

이 연구의 목적은 교도소의 다양한 교정환경이 수형자의 재범에 미치는 상대적 영향력을 검증하는 데 있다. 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 직업훈련에 대한 만족도, 사회복귀제도에 대한 만족도, 교도소 내 하위문화, 수형자들의 구금의 고통 등을 독립변인으로 포함하였으며, 종속변인은 재범여부로 더미화하여 이항로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해 분석하였으며, 기존의 승산비가 아닌 한계확률효과로 보다 직관적으로 영향력을 비교하였다. 연구에 사용된 자료는 법무부(2013)에서 실시한 ‘교정인권지수 개발’의 2차 자료를 활용하였다. 분석결과, 소년원에 수용된 경험이 있을수록, 남자일수록, 학력이 낮을수록, 연령이 높을수록, 교도소내의 하위문화를 인식할수록, 복역기간이 짧을수록 재범을 더욱 많이 행하는 것으로 제시되었다. 그러나 2차 자료의 한계로 인해 더욱 많은 변인들을 포함하지 못하고 종단적 분석을 하지 못한 한계를 지닌다.
