This study focused on how part-time students majoring in early childhood education at the graduate school of education transform ECE teacher’s images and how the students experience a course work ‘ECE teacher education’ as an agent that transforms ECE teacher’s images. This study examined the number of upper categories, hierarchies, and specificity measures of the students' concepts on ‘early childhood teachers’ images by using concept map analysis introduced by Novak and Gowin's(1984). 22 participants drew concept maps about ‘early childhood teachers’ images for about one hour at the beginning and at the end of the Semester. The students were interviewed informally in order to understand the reason why the images have been transformed. The findings are summarized as follows: (a) The students represent ECE teacher’s images as ‘appearance’(41.3%) the most. ‘certificate’(15.2%) and ‘task’(15.2%) are followed by in the first concept maps. In the second concept maps, the students represent ECE teacher’s images as ‘educator’(37.0%) the most. ‘caring’(27.8%) and ‘self-development’(16.7%) are followed by. (b) The students describe contents of the course work ‘ECE teacher education’as an agent of the transformation of ECE teacher’s images, therefore the students experience reflective thoughts. Active and reflective adult learners exist across the course work ‘ECE teacher education’. The findings of this study conclude that the course work ‘ECE teacher education’of the Graduate School of Education is worth transformative learning based on humanities.

본 연구의 목적은 ‘유아교사교육연구’ 수강을 통한 교육대학원생의 유아교사 이미지에 대한 변화의 알아보고, 유아교사 이미지 변화의 매개로써 유아교사교육연구를 수강한 교사들의 경험 이 어떠한지를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위하여 ‘유아교사교육연구’를 수강한 교육대학원 수강생 22명을 대상으로 Novak과 Gowin(1984)의 개념도를 사용하여 유아교사에 대한 이미지에 대한 변화를 알아보기 위하여 1차, 2차 개념도의 상위개념을 분석하였으며, 유아교사에 대한 이미지 를 변화시킨 동인을 면담을 통해 알아보았다. 연구결과 첫째, 교육대학원생들은 1차 개념도에 서는 ‘외모’(41.3%), ‘자격’(15.2%), ‘업무’(15.2%)의 순으로 유아교사의 이미지를 표상하였고, 2 차 개념도에서는 ‘교육자’(37.0%), ‘돌봄’(27.8%), ‘자기개발’(16.7%)의 순으로 유아교사의 이미지 를 표상하였다. 둘째, 교육대학원생들은 유아교사의 이미지변화의 동인을 유아교사교육 강의의 내용으로 설명하며, 이 과목 수강을 통해 교사와 교육을 주의 깊게 사유하고 반성적 성찰을 경 험한 성인학습자의 면모를 드러내었다. 이에 본 연구는 유아교사교육연구를 수강한 교육대학원 생들의 교육대학원에서 주체적 학습 경험이 교육대학원생들의 내면의 전환을 추동하여 삶의 자세에 까지 변화를 일으키는 바, 교육대학원 ‘유아교사교육연구’의 전환학습적 교사교육 나아 가 전환학습적 인문학 중심의 교사교육의 가치를 논의하였다.
