- 한국에 복음이 들어온지 120년이 되어간다. 그동안 한국교회가 크게 부흥하였고 기독교교육에 대한 관심도 많아졌다. 많은 기독교교육전문가, 학자들이 있고, 다양한 교재, 시설들이 개발되고 있다. 그러한 과정에 복음주의 신학의 관점에서 기독교교육을 연구하는 학자들이 같이 모여 연구할 필요성을 느끼고 학회를 설립하게 되었다.
