Since 1990, according as expansion of a new town, that is, expansion of a residential district, the demand of those who have ccar of their own has increased rapidly. In the commercial district and residential district located in the old downtown, since land readjustment of a small-scale field has not been accomplished, the field of an indeterminate form and the narrow street which cars cannot be approaching are scattered. This is the present condition of a old downtown. In the old downtown, because of insufficiency of parking facilities, a dispute of between a neighbor and neighbor and a problem of a fire activity have frequently happened. On the standard of existing parking space laws and deduction matters of an example of Jeonju-si, for the urban regeneration in the old downtown, making a match of architecture affiliated parking space equipment standard using as the unit field with a peculiarity of an old downtown, this study will be expected that urban regeneration will be actively fulfilled, with revision of parking law

1990년 이후 신도시의 확장으로 외곽으로 주거지역이 확장되어 자가용 이용자들의 수요가 급격히 증가하였다. 구도심에 위치한 상업지역 및 주거지역에서는 소규모필지의 구획정리가 이루어지지 않아 부정형의 필지 및 차동차가 진입하지 못하는 좁은 골목이 산재되어 있는 것이 현재의 현황이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 구도심에서는 주차시설 부족으로 이웃과의 분쟁, 소방 활동상의 문제가 발생하고 있다. 본 연구는 기존 주차장법과 전주시 사례에서 도출된 사항을 기준으로 구도심 도시재생을 위하여 단위필지별로 이루어지는 건축물부설주차장 설치기준을 구도심의 특성에 맞추어서 주차장법이 개정되어 도시재생이 활발하게 이루어지도록 하는데 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
