Contemporary men tend to be addicted to any substance or behavior. Addiction, in a good sense, have many problems, but it is still worse when any person who is a serial murderer is addicted to killing people without aim and indiscriminately. Murder addiction is a compulsion to kill any person. In introduction, I proposed my goals, coverage and methods of my study. I then explained serial murder in detail. The reason why I stated it is that serial murder is habitual and addictive and some of serial murders have e\been addicted to killing people. There are two types of addiction, that is to say, substance addiction and behavioral addiction. Murder addiction is a form of behavioral addiction. I expounded on the definition, phenomena, causes of murder addiction. Furthermore, I went on to the staged leading to murder addiction and its consequences. Nobody has become addicted to murder addiction in a day or two. By repeating them habitually, they come to be addicted to any behavior or substance. Addiction is a compulsion to do something. The stages of murder addiction are hesitation stage, fear and repentance stage, naturalization or rationalization stage, desensitization or insensitivity stage, jubilation stage, intoxication stage and cessation stage. We all make efforts to prevent murderers from being addicted to killing and reduce damaged from any crime.

현대인은 누구나 중독의 경향이 있다. 좋은 의미의 중독도 문제가 되겠지만 사람의 생명을 빼앗는 살인도 중독에 걸리면 도저히 살인을 하고 못 배기는 것이 살인중독 이다. 서설에서는 연구목적과 연구범위 및 연구방법을 제시하였다. 그 다음에 연쇄살인에 대해서 논하였다. 연쇄살인을 논한 이유는 연쇄살인은 다소 습관성이나 중독성이 있을 수 있고 연쇄살인자 상당수가 살인중독에 빠져 있기 때문 이다. 중독에는 물질중독과 행동중독이 있는데 살인중독은 행동중독의 한 유형이다. 살인 중독의 의의, 살인중독의 실태, 살인중독의 원인, 살인중독에 이르는 과정, 살인중독의 결과를 기술하였다. 모든 살인중독자가 반드시 같지는 않겠지만 일정한 유형의 살인 중독에 이르는 과정이 있다고 제시하였다. 어느 중독이나 하루아침에 중독에 빠지는 것은 없다. 습관적 반복적으로 하다 보니 이제는 그것이 없으면 견딜 수 없게 되는 것이며 그 상태가 바로 중독이다. 살인중독 도 장기간에 걸쳐 반복 실행하게 되면 살인을 하지 않을 수 없게 되는 것이며 살인중 독은 대체로 주저단계(갈등단계), 두려움과 후회단계, 중화(합리화)단계, 둔감화(무감 각)단계, 희열단계, 중독단계 및 휴지단계를 거친다고 제시하였다. 살인중독은 사회에 커다란 반향과 손실을 초래하므로 살인중독을 막고 피해를 예방하기 위한 적절한 대 책이 필요할 것이다.
