This article is about a study on character education in a view of reformed Christian education. The purpose of this study is to explore the necessity of character education grounded upon statistics related with character education, to propose the elements and effects of character education. This paper discusses the concepts of character and character education in order to delineate the concepts of Christian character and Christian character education. In this article, the restoration of the image of God is discussed and proposed as the aim of Christian character education in terms of reformed theology. "Making perfect" and "having people to live spiritual and godly life" are discussed as the contents of Christian character education, And the objectives for the character education of the reformed Christian are suggested on the basis of the educational implications of the theological terminology for the "image of God". For the practical ways of the objectives two things are proved, that is, firstly, the practice of the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit, another thing is the restoration of the image of God which is discussed in three aspects, i. e. the intellectual, the emotional, and the behavioral aspect. In this paper, four things are suggested as Christian character education in future. Virtues of Christian character are developed in order to restore image of God. Programs of Christian character education are developed in the scopes of the intellect, emotion and will as well as is designed to apply to the real lives. Programs of Christian character education are connected with family, church, and Christian schools. Finally, core virtues which are developed by Ministry of Education are illuminated and expanded on the ground of restoring God's image as the aim of Christian character education.

본 연구는 개혁주의 기독교교육의 관점에서 인성교육을 탐구하기 위해 일반교육에서 인성교육에 대한 논의와 더불어 기독교적 인성교육을 논하였다. 기독교적 인성교육의 내용으로는 하나님의 형상을 회복하게 하는 ‘온전케 하는 것’과 ‘영적이며 경건한 생활을 하게 하는 것’임을 논의하였으며 개혁주의 기독교인성교육의 목표는 인간이 ‘하나님의 형상’으로 창조되었다는 것에 기초하여 ‘하나님의 형상’에 관한 기독교교육적인 의미를 제시하였다. 이러한 목표는 성령의 아홉 가지 열매에 대하여 지식으로 알고 깨닫고 삶에서 실천을 논의하였고 하나님의 형상이 지적인 면, 정서적인 면, 행동적인 면에서 회복됨을 논의하였다. 본 연구에서 개혁주의 기독교교육 관점에서 인성교육의 방향은 첫째, 기독교적 인성교육은 하나님의 형상을 회복하기 위하여 다양한 덕목을 추출하고 덕목에 따른 인성교육의 내용이고 전인적 발달을 위한 교육이어야 한다. 둘째, 기독교적 인성교육을 위해 지‧정‧의를 포함한 신앙교육과 하나님의 모든 백성 곧 모든 학생을 대상으로 하는 기독교적인 가치관을 가진 인성교육 프로그램 개발이 필요하다. 인성교육 프로그램은 실제 삶과의 관련 속에서 느끼고 갈등하는 구체적 경험을 통해 인성의 핵심 역량을 함양할 수 있어야 한다. 셋째, 가정‧교회‧기독교학교가 함께 연계된 인성 교육 프로그램을 개발해야 한다. 마지막으로 우리나라 교육부에서 제시하는 인성교육의 핵심덕목들을 개혁주의 기독교교육의 관점에서 조명하고 기독교적 인성교육의 목표로서의 하나님의 형상회복을 위한 실천 방안을 모색함이 필요하다.
