The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between relationship quality and loyalty according to coaching characteristics of martial arts coachers in private hall. For this purpose, this study collected 724 students who were working out in martial arts halls by convenience sampling. Frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS 15.0. The results are as follows: First, coaching characteristics, relationship quality, and loyalty varied from martial arts events. Second, there is a positive relationship between coaching characteristics of martial arts coachers and relationship quality. Third, coaching characteristics of martial arts coachers are positively related to loyalty. Fourth, relationship quality with martial arts halls has a positive relationship with loyalty. Based on the results of this study, proposals for follow-up studies are as follows: First, this study limited martial arts events to Taekwondo, Judo, and Hapkido and examined differences in each variable. It seems possible to derive extensive and diverse suggestions when conducting studies in addition to other martial arts events. Second, this study investigated the relationship between relationship quality and loyalty according to coaching characteristics of martial arts coachers by quantitative analysis using questionnaires. There is a need for studies using a qualitative analysis to examine what kind of coachers’ behavior facial expression and tone are directly related to students. It is considered that this can divide their coaching behavior into advantages and disadvantages and practically help beginning coachers who operate martial arts halls for the first time.
