The understanding of the suicide victims’ unconscious mechanism for suicide is very important for coroners’ grasping the cause of suicide in case there is no suicide note. This study will examine the victims’unconscious mechanism for suicide and the cause of suicide through a psychoanalytic psychological autopsy. In this research, the death leap having the miserable corpse among suicidal methods can be interpreted as the means of revenge on those who are alive. The Life’s trials can be expressed through railway suicides, and the dissatisfaction with life through taking poison. And the drowning is relevant to a unconscious desire to start a new life. The suicide by hanging can be construed as meaning that the victim had unconsciously unrealistic thoughts, losing reality. These techniques for psychoanalytic psychological autopsy are useful for the determining the cause of the suicide in the autopsy.

본 연구는 유서없이 자살하였을 경우 검시관이 자살자의 사망원인을 파악하는데 많은 어려움이 있을 것으로 예상되어 자살방법에 대한 자살자의 무의식적 기제를 파악하기 위하여 정신분석적 심리부검을 통한 자살의 원인을 살피고자 하였다. 자살방법 중 투신자살은 참혹한 시신으로서의 결과로, 살아있는 자에 대한 복수를 의미한다고 해석할 수 있다. 기차자살은 삶의 힘듬을 나타내는 방법이고 음독사의 무의식적 의미는 현실에 대한 불만이나 불평을 말로 다할 수 없음을 나타낼 때 사용하는 방법이다.그리고 익사의 방법을 사용하는 자살방법은 자신의 삶을 새로 바꾸고 싶다는 무의식적 욕구가 있으며 액사는 현실접촉과의 상실을 의미함으로서 비현실적인 사고나 생각을 갖고 있다는 무의식적 의미가 있는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 이러한 정신분석적 심리부검은 검시에 유용한 방법이 될 것이다.
