Asan-si in Chungcheongnam-do is a city of centrality playing a gateway role between the capital area and Chungnam area. It also has rich social, cultural, economical civic resources and has high potentiality of local development. But, due to rapid urban development, the centripetal force of the city has been dispersed which resulted in creating gap between the old civic zone as the old city and the outer civic zone. Accordingly, the architectural form in old civic zone was stagnant and it decreases urban vitality, which leads to the need of systematic analysis and investigation. Among them, this study investigated the public culture architectural form reflecting the future growth of Asan, and analyzed the complicated characteristics of architecture on old civic zone. The analysis system is divided into location analysis and form analysis and the architectural form was analyzed. As a result, for architectural location, most street where buildings are located has no coherent form, but has complicated and irregular pattern. Considering the old street network and historic landscape of old civic zone, it is hard to find any simple and regular street location close to lattice and regular type. However, in terms of function of street, they are located in rather good environment for movement and usability of traffic area. As the result of analysis by the architectural form, it is hard to find any continuity and uniformity of each building and as there is no standard, independent designs were mixed and applied. Accordingly, it is recommended to create a suitable standard in order to apply independent and unique architectural form for Asan-si in a complicated level
