This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the Solution-Focused Family Counseling on a male adolescent client who was experiencing difficulties as a result of his behavioral problems. In this case, the parents of the client were allowed to participate in the therapy sessions, and the therapy was conducted over seven sessions. The results of the study were as follows: first, progress in the client's problem-solving ability was evidenced by a lower incidence of problematic behaviors. Second, the client's feelings of anxiety and frustration were decreased and his self-esteem was increased. Third, the client's communication skill with his parents was also improved. This indicates that Solution-Focused Family Counseling can help the client and his parents shift their focus from problem-oriented narratives to solution oriented focused thinking, resulting in an improved relationship. Last, as the therapy sessions went on a balanced parental role was defined which helped to change both the client's attitude and the family system. This study showed the benefits of Solution-Focused Family Counseling for adolescent client with behavioral problems and his parents.
