This study was an empirical study to examine the methods to revitalize from a sustainability perspective and was conducted with residents living in Sonbul-myeon, Hampyeong-gun and Duwon-myeon, Goheung-gun that performed a base function in Jeollanam-do. The causality between functional revitalization and comfort elements of the seat of myeon and levels of perceived revitalization was analyzed to establish the direction of sustainable revitalization of the seat of myeon. The results suggested that while functional revitalization elements influenced centrality by concentrated convenient facilities and diversity of residents activity and cultural space, comfort revitalization elements influenced the harmony of building exteriors, the aesthetics of signboards and street facilities, and the convenience of convenient facilities.

본 연구는 전라남도 내에서 거점기능을 수행하고 있는 면소재지 중 함평군 손불면과 고흥군 두원면 면소재지 주민들을 대상으로 한 지속성 관점의 활성화 방안에 대한 실증적 연구이다. 그리고 주 내용은 면소재지의 기능활성화 요소/쾌적성 요소와 활성화 인식 정도에 대한 변수들 간 인과적 관계를 분석함으로서 면소재지의 지속가능한 활성화 방향설정을 모색하는 것이다. 그 결과 기능 활성화 요소들은 각종 생활편의시설의 집중에 의한 중심성과 주민활동 및 문화공간의 다양성이 활성화에 영향을 미쳤고 쾌적성 요소들은 건축물의 외관 조화와 간판/가로시설물의 심미성과 생활편의시설의 편리성이 활성화에 영향을 미치는 것으로 연구되었다.
