- Historically women with chronic illness have been under-voiced. The purpose of this narrative study is to listen to the stories of how a chronic illness has impacted the life of woman as well as the lives of her family. Three informants, father, mother and the woman with Multiple Sclerosis were interviewed for the study. Three narratives were interwoven and contextualize to depict the lives of family. Results indicated several similarities and differences with regards to the meaning of illness for these family members.
