The elderly rate in South Korea in 2013 is over 12%. Especially, The elderly rate in rural area is 36% , i.e., in rural area, one of three is people aged 65 and over. In rural area, a community is a small scale and main public facilities stand close together. In this area, a senior complex is better appropriate for the elderly, which is located at one site. Recently, it shows a significant increase. The senior complex has advantages to provide integrated services to the elderly and to reduce the budget for the management operation of facilities. Recently, a construction plan for the senior complex in primary local government is on the rise, which establishes public health centers and welfare facilities, or hospitals and welfare facilities. A external space plan of a senior complex is as follows: In order to access public facilities such as public health centers, hospitals, community welfare centers, these facilities are located on the front of land. On the other hand, welfare facilities for the elderly are located in the inside of land to maintain their independence. Convenience facilities such as affiliated facilities and cafeteria are located between areas for general people and the elderly to facilitate accessibility and to provide opportunities for contact.
