This study was to inquire the kindergarten teachers's difficulties and improvements on kindergarten instruction. The purpose is to bring forth improvement of teacher's instructional development. For the purpose of this, many materials and data were collected from individual in-depth interviews and group interviews with kindergarten teachers. As a result of interviewing the teachers, the features of instruction could be listed as follows: first, kindergarten teachers though that instruction process was preparing, doing and evaluating for improvement. When they prepared instruction, they considered annual education plan, monthly education plan , weekly education plan and materials with ease and had difficulties about lacks of time to prepare a instruction and materials for meaningful instruction. Second, when kindergarten teacher taught in class, they felt difficulties in controling children and adapting unforeseeable circumstances. Third, they thought that sharing with fellow teachers, secure of support personnel and change of awareness of themselves help improving instruction.

본 연구의 목적은 유치원 교사들이 본인들의 실제 수업을 어떻게 이해하고, 그 과정에서 경험하는 어려움의 양상과 이에 대한 교사 자신의 개선방안은 무엇인지에 대하여 알아보고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 유치원 교사들과 개별면담과 집단면담을 실시하였다. 그 결과 유치원 교사들은 크게 수업을 준비하고 실행하며 실행 후 평가하는 과정에서 어려움을 경험하였다. 준비과정에서 연간 및 월간, 주간 교육계획 준수와 수업자료의 용이성을 고려하여 수업을 준비하고 수업자료와 수업준비 시간의 부족으로 어려움을 경험하며, 동료교사와 장학자료 등을 수업에 긍정적인 자극을 주는 요인으로 보고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 수업실행과정에서는 유아 통제와 불예측적인 업무 측면에서 어려움을 경험하고, 수업평가과정에서 수업개선을 위하여 동료교사의 만남, 보조 인력 확보 그리고 교사 자신의 인식의 변화가 필요함을 인식하였다.
