The purpose of this study is to analyze enviromental education content in the 2007 revised curriculum of Practical Arts(Technology and Home Economics), especially focused on the incorporation of the “Family Life” unit into the grade 5 to 10 curriculum. The analysis relies on the framwork of KICE(2006) that covers 4 different categories such as value of enviroment, consis of enviroment, pollution and enviromental conservation. In conclusion, this study indicates that family life of Practical Arts, Technology and Home Economics deals with value of enviroment and enviromental conservation. And this study suggest enviromental education should move toward effective education through the broad category and educational programs including realistic skills, relationship education, and the family life, And it is necessary for increasing the problem-solving ability of students focused on enviromental awareness, enviromental knowledge, enviromental attitudes, enviromental skills, in addition to enviromental participation.

본 연구는 2007년 개정 실과(기술․가정) 교육과정에 제시된 환경교육 관련 내용을 분석하고 이를 근거로 어떤 관점과 목표로 환경교육을 할 수 있는지 그 방향을 모색하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 한국교육과정평가원(2006)에 개발한 새로운 환경 교육 내용 체제로 설정하였다. 즉 환경관, 환경의 구성, 환경오염, 인간 생활과 환경 문제, 환경 보존과 대책의 5가지 대분류 하위의 21개 범주에 근거하여 환경교육과 관련된 내용 요소를 추출하여 관련 교육 내용을 도출하였다. 연구 결과 초등 실과, 중학교 기술․가정의 가정생활 영역의 경우 환경관과 환경 보전과 대책과 관련된 내용을 중점적으로 다루고 있었으며 환경의 구성, 인간 활동과 환경 문제와 관련된 내용은 부분적으로 다루고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 환경교육을 효율적으로 수행하기 위해서는 환경 교육과 관련된 인식, 지각, 태도, 기능, 참여 등 다양한 측면에서의 접근이 필요하며 관련 내용을 보다 구체화할 필요가 있음을 제안하였다.
