This study aims to draw an educational direction of the economic education for young children, by the analyzing goals, objectives, and contents of kindergarten curriculum and reviewing historical changes of the curriculum. The seven official notifications, especially the chapters related to the kindergarten curriculum made by Ministry of Education ranging from the First version to the latest Revised version in 2007, were adopted as main analysis sources in this study. The implications of this study are as follows. First, the focus of the objectives and orientation in the economic education for young children changed from cognitive and affective development to affective development, and community aspects rather individual ones are emphasized. Second, the economic content relating to 'use', which deals with consumer aspects, is the foundation of education curriculum in kindergarten. From the First to Fourth Kindergarten Curriculum, the economic behaviors of 'deal with' is given attention, while 'buy' aspect is given weight from the fifth to those revisions of 2007. Third, the basic concept appears to be regarding consumer life rather than producers. And the contents about 'occupations' are mainly introduced in producer aspect. In conclusion, affective aspects, especially community and social life, are explained for young children. And, the systematic approach into such concepts as 'use' and 'buy' is needed, and the contents relating to production and manufacturing process are to be introduced along with occupation.

본 연구는 제1차 유치원 교육과정부터 2007년 개정 유치원 교육과정에 이르기까지 국가고시 유치원 교육과정의 경제생활 교육 관련 목적, 목표, 내용을 분석하여, 경제생활 관련 국가고시 유치원 교육과정의 변화 양상을 살피고 이를 토대로 유아 경제생활 교육의 방향을 도출해 내는 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 제1차 유치원 교육과정부터 2007년 개정 유치원 교육과정에 이르기까지 총 7개 고시문(교육과정 원문)을 분석 대상으로 삼았다. 국가고시 교육과정에 근거하여 유치원에서 교육활동을 계획할 때에는, 정의적인 측면의 접근이 필요하며, 이 역시 집단, 공동체 생활에 기반을 둔 것이어야 한다. 또한 내용에 있어서, 소비자 생활면에 있어서는 쓰다와 사다의 측면에서의 계획적인 접근이 필요하며, 이와 더불어 생산자 생활면에서는 직업적인 요소를 갖추되 이에 생산적인 요소를 접목하여 교육활동을 계획하는 것이 필요하다.
