Realizing the IT investment results is an important research area in many disciplines and also in IS. Many researchers have studies information technology payoff on performance and they have found contradictory results, which created the concept of IT paradox. In this study, we focused on one dimension of performance, which is financial aspect. Also, different context have different responses to IT investment in which we chose hospitals to understand the effect of IT investment on profitability of them. Many studies also addressed the lag effect of IT investment payoffs. To understand if the lag effect of IT investment is valid for hospitals and to address the IT paradox concept, multiple models have been developed to understand the effect of IT on profitability of hospitals. Also, none of the previous studies have found the most effective lag period of IT investments which again different models have been proposed to find out which model is most effective. Results showed how the IT investment lagged effect can be realized on hospital profitability. Also, the most effective lag period was determined.
