Kim Jaewon. 2014. A Case Study on the Proofreading Process of English-Korean Translation. Journal of Linguistic Studies 19(1), 39-64. Until now, there has been serious discussions regarding how to improve the quality of translated texts. Within this context, the purpose of this study is to systematize the proofreading process, supplementing the empirical model for improving translation quality through the case study of many English- Korean translated texts. The model suggested here, has three stages : filtering stage, refining stage and adjusting stage. At the filtering stage, translationese and mistranslation in the translated text(TT) are required to be removed on the basis of 'accuracy' and 'appropriacy' ; at the refining stage, it is required to be revised on the basis of 'relevance', which consists of structural relevance and expressional relevance And examining the translated text through the three stages, the translator can get the accurately, appropriately, relevantly translated text.
