좌식배드민턴프로그램이 지체장애인의 회복탄력성(RQ)에 미치는 효과
Analyzing the Body Composition and Resilience Quotient of Physically Challenged Women participating in the Sitting Badminton Program
The purpose of this study is to prepare the ground for a healthy life for physically challenged women who restrictively participate in physical activities, by enabling them to maintain their physical and mental functions adequately. This was done by investigating how the sitting badminton program has affected the women’s body composition and psychological resilience quotient. In this study, a total of 20 physically challenged women (15 functionally challenged women, 5 women with joint disorders) were selected. They were aged 40 or over, were living in “City A” and wanted to take part in the sitting badminton program at “Welfare Center B for the Disabled.” Among these 20 participants, 10 people were randomly placed in the experimental group and the other 10 people were ramdomly put in the controlled group. The data obtained from this study was used in calculating the average values and standard deviations among each group and between the groups, for each dependent variable. The IBM SPSS Statistics 19.0 Program was used in this study. Comparisons between each group’s average values obtained in the study were made by “analyzing the covariance.” These comparisons were made by using the preliminary readings as the covariates, and the statistical significance was set at 0.05. The result of this study is as follows. First, the sitting badminton program has resulted in increases in the physically challenged women’s body fat percentages and quantities. Second, the program has had a positive influence on the participants’ resilience quotients, emotional discipline, impulse control, analytical skills, commonication skills, appreciative qualities, self-optimism and life satisfaction. Hence, the 12-week sitting badminton program has enabled the physically challenged women participants to have more active and positive attitudes toward life. This has led to a conclusion that the program brings very positive results, such as enhancing the participants’ resistance to circumstance changes and stress as well as improving their physical functions and, especially resilience quotients.

현대사회에 있어서 신체활동 연구의 주요 탐구과제는 ‘신체활동을 통한 교육’으로부터 ‘인간의 기본적인 움직임’을 목표로 하는 스포츠적인 움직임을 중심으로 한 생명 활동의 개념으로 급속히 변화되고 있는 추세이다. 이러한 환경변화에 대응하기 위하여 본학회는 ‘체육’적인 요소에서 ‘스포츠’적인 요소를 중심으로 한 학문적 정체성을 견고히 하고, 정기적인 학술지 발간과 학술활동을 통해 한국스포츠츠 문화의 발전과 학문적인 발전에 기여하는데 그 목적이 있다.
