The purpose of this study focus on formation of the modernity subject and de-subjectivate process of the western architecture as the 'object little a' of the Korean architecture, and the need of the new subject concepts. In this point, the 'genius discourses' of the 18th century in Europe are give us very useful implications about the issue of the new artistic (architectural) subject. From this, we can get inspirations about the new possibilities of the 'architecture-subject' and overcome the post-modern nihilism and the architecture subordinated by the modernity subject. If the western architecture is the 'object little a', as an illusion substitute of the real, define as the repetitive desire of our architecture, the problem is re-definition of it as a will to power of our life, as a non-nihilistic one. Finally, the efforts for restoration of the split architectural subject and identity, over the excessive rationalism of the modern enlightenment and the de-subjectivation of post-modern, can start from restore the ability of criticism as freedom as a nature of modernity project. And it must proceed to restore of the new community based on culture(Bildung) as the creative imagination and art (architecture), and put it into practice. In these efforts, our split subject of architecture can be redefined to the architecture-subject as a new identity of architecture.

본 논문은 우리 ‘건축’의 ‘대상a’로서 서구 현대건축(예술)의 ‘근대적 주체’의 형성과 탈-주체의 과정, 그리고 ‘새로운 주체’ 개념의 필요성에 주목한다. 이런 차원에서 18세기를 전후 유럽을 배경으로 다양하게 펼쳐진 ‘천재담론’의 전개와 논지는 ‘예술적 주체’의 문제에 적지 않은 시사점을 던져 준다. ‘근대적 주체’에 종속된 도구적 관점의 건축이 아닌, 나아가 포스트모더니즘의 허무주의를 넘을 수 있는 ‘건축-주체’의 새로운 가능성을 볼 수 있다. 우리의 ‘건축’에게 서구의 ‘아키텍처’가 ‘실재의 구멍을 채우는 환상으로서 대상 a(object little a)’라면, 그래서 우리의 ‘건축’이 그 붙잡을 수 없는 대상에 대한 ‘끊임없는 욕망’으로 정의된다면, 이제 남은 것은 그것을 어떻게 ‘허무주의’가 아닌 ‘생의 의욕’으로 재정의할 것인가의 문제이다. 결국, 근대 계몽주의적 과도한 이성주의와 현대 포스트 모던적 탈주체화의 과정에서 ‘분열된’ 건축적 주체와 독창성의 회복은 근대기획(modernity project)의 본질로서 ‘자유’로서 주체의 ‘비판성’을 회복하는 것으로부터 출발하며, 창조적 상상력과 예술로서의 ‘문화’에 바탕 한 새로운 ‘공동체’의 자치를 재조명하고 실천하는 것으로 나아가야 할 것이다. 이 와중에서 우리 ‘건축’의 분열된 주체는 ‘건축-주체’의 새로운 통합으로 재정의될 수 있을 것이다.
