Protects the therapeutic treatment for drug addicts in this study is underway in our country current suppression, to survey Treatment and protection system, Treatment monitoring, Probation and Correctional treatment in the development of status and problems. And to propose efficient reuse treatment method for drug addiction and crime prevention the following. Not change tend to look first, prosecution and judicial authorities punish drug addicts, only a trend in criminal punishment to drug education and drug addict will be maintained. On the other hand, should be shift in paradigm as a therapeutic approach. To maintain efficiency and unity of administration system and administration drug addicts, is do organic linkage system between Secondly,. The establishment and law shall not be established integration framework to achieve this. Thirdly, in construction of treatment and establishment of the transfer system, suitable for the fact Korea treatment services. An end to support for addicts can do rehabilitation in their various programs and facilities must be supported.

본 연구는 현재 우리나라에서 실시되고 있는 마약류 중독자에 대한 강제치료제도인 치료보호, 치료감호, 보호관찰, 교정처우의 현황과 문제점을 개관하고, 마약류 중독 및 범죄예방을 위한 효율적인 강제치료 방안을 다음과 같이 제언하였다. 첫째, 검찰 등 사법당국이 마약 중독자를 처벌 대상자로만 보는 경향이 바뀌지 않는 한 마약류 사범 및 중독자에 대한 형사 처벌적 기조는 유지되리라 생각이 든다. 이에 대한 치료적 접근방법으로의 패러다임의 전환이 필요하다. 둘째, 마약류 중독자에 대한 관리 및 처우제도의 통일성과 효율성을 위해서는 제도 간 유기적 연계가 이뤄져야 할 것이다. 이를 위해서 통합기구설치 및 법률적 근거가 마련되어야 할 것이다. 셋째, 치료적 서비스 내용 개발로 우리나라 실정에 맞는 치료 서비스, 전달체계의 확립과 치료인력의 구축이다. 마지막으로 중독자들이 모여 스스로 재활치료를 할 수 있도록 다양한 프로그램과 시설지원이 뒷받침 되어야 할 것이다.
