For studies on Daegu's modern history of Korean dance, reillumination of artistic performances of Jung Sosan, a living witness and record of Daegu's modern dance history, and new reevaluation of dance history have an important meaning for correct understanding and value judgement of Daegu's modern dance. Jung Sosan is not only starting point of the pride in history for Daegu which is wasteland of traditional dance and hope for traditional dance of Daegu aiming at the future but also is boastful existence of Daegu's dance history and pride of Daegu's dance field. New understanding of existential value for Jung Sosan who played a pivotal role in modern dance history in Daegu of Yeongnam area can be a start of Daegu's modern dance history and will be an important criterion and record which are showing future-aimed artistic value. Under the periodical changes, the value of Jung Sosan who preserved and passed down the tradition and marked a milestone for local culture should be recognized and illuminated again. Thus, the activities will be earnest study on it as a new issue of dance field and an opportunity to find new directivity and measure of Korean dance in Daegu area. In addition, it will be variously interpreted for defining characteristics of modern dance in Daegu area.

대구의 한국무용 근대사를 연구하는데 있어 대구 근대무용 춤사의 산증인이자 기록 그 자체인 정소산의 예술사 적 업적의 재조명과 무용사적 새로운 재평가는 대구 근대무용의 올바른 이해와 가치판단에 중요한 의미를 가진 다. 정소산은 현재 전통무용의 불모지인 대구지역의 역사성에 대한 자부심과 미래지향적인 대구지역의 전통무용 에 대한 희망의 시발점이기도 한 동시에 대구의 무용사에 있어 정소산이란 존재적 가치만으로도 자랑스러운 존 재이며 대구무용계의 자존심이라 할 수 있다. 영남지역의 대구를 중심으로 근대 무용사에 중추적인 역할을 한 정 소산에 대한 존재적 가치의 재인식은 대구 근대 무용사의 시작이라 할 수 있으며 동시에 미래지향적 예술적 가 치를 알 수 있는 중요한 척도가 될 것이며 기록 그 자체라 할 수 있다. 시대적 변화 속에서도 전통을 보존, 전승 하고 향토문화의 큰 획을 그은 정소산의 그 가치를 인식하고 재조명을 통해 무용계의 새로운 화두로서 이에 대 한 본격적인 연구와 대구 지역 한국무용의 새로운 방향점 내지 방안을 찾을 수 있는 좋은 계기가 될 것이며 대 구 지역의 근대무용의 성격을 규정하는데 다양한 해석이 가능할 것이다.
