The purpose of this study was to investigate problematic issues related to the positioning of youth sports instructors and to suggest the future directions. In order to accomplish the purpose of the present study, five instructors from the youth sport facilities utilized a purposeful sampling method, Data obtained from an in-depth interview and secondary data were analysed based on content analysis. Triangulation, peer review, and member check were used to obtain validity and reliability of the present study. The results of the study are as follows: The list of the final categories including entrance course and positioning of youth sport instructors was determined after the categorization of the issues and the analysis of these categories. Included in the entrance course is the basic understanding of motivation and participation of sports in youth, the instructor’s preparedness, and the instructor’s aptitude. Incorporated in the positioning of youth instructors are their leadership duties, regular duties, work-satisfaction, and the understand the progression of vision. The leadership duties are composed of efforts for program improvement and creative evolution of programs. The regular duties are comprised of membership supervision discrepancies and comradeship among colleagues. The instructor’s satisfaction involves financial security, job-satisfaction, and societal acceptance. The instructor’s vision for evolvement includes future job prospects, developing essential requirements, and the increase in participation of marginalized people in society.

현대사회에 있어서 신체활동 연구의 주요 탐구과제는 ‘신체활동을 통한 교육’으로부터 ‘인간의 기본적인 움직임’을 목표로 하는 스포츠적인 움직임을 중심으로 한 생명 활동의 개념으로 급속히 변화되고 있는 추세이다. 이러한 환경변화에 대응하기 위하여 본학회는 ‘체육’적인 요소에서 ‘스포츠’적인 요소를 중심으로 한 학문적 정체성을 견고히 하고, 정기적인 학술지 발간과 학술활동을 통해 한국스포츠츠 문화의 발전과 학문적인 발전에 기여하는데 그 목적이 있다.
