This study aims to provide the preliminary data which contains detailed and effective plans to seek for the solution related to the passive house. It is obtained by investigating the recognition of passive design skills and problems on application through a survey of practicing professionals in the field of architectural design. As a result of examining the need for applying passive design with small detached houses in the suburb of a local city, it is analyzed that most of the survey participants agreed to the necessity of energy saving with comfortable environment. The factors which exert influence on the application of passive design skills include: Firstly, the owner's will to invest has strong effect on the application of passive design skills. Secondly, The applicability of passive design is also the influential factor because the domestic market of passive house materials is in the initial stages and there are few generalized models of passive house. Finally, in the case of the small detached house in local cities, the construction capability can affect applying the design of passive house.

이 연구의 목적은 패시브하우스와 관련된 해결책들을 모색하기 위한 구체적이고 실용적인 방법을 포함하는 기초자료를 제공함에 있다. 이 연구는 건축설계 분야의 실무 전문가들의 조사를 통하여 패시브하우스 디자인 기술들에 대한 인식과 적용상의 문제점을 파악함으로써 얻어졌다. 지방 도시의 근교에 있는 소형 단독주택 설계 시 패시브 디자인 적용의 요구를 조사한 결과, 대부분의 조사 참가자들이 쾌적한 환경을 겸비한 에너지 절감의 필요성에 대하여 공감하는 것으로 분석되었다. 패시브디자인 기술의 적용에 영향을 미치는 요소들은 다음을 포함한다 첫째, 건축주의 투자에 대한 의지는 패시브디자인 기술의 적용에 강한 영향을 끼친다. 둘째, 국내 패시브하우스 자재시장이 초기단계에 있고 패시브하우스의 일반화된 모델이 적기 때문에 패시브디자인의 적용가능성도 영향을 미치는 요소이다.. 마지막으로, 지방의 소형 단독주택의 경우, 시공능력은 패시브하우스의 설계를 적용하는데 영향을 미칠 수 있다.
