This study is to find out the state of medical rehabilitation treatment provided by rehabilitation medical centers for the children disabled and to look for ways to improve the pediatric occupational therapy. The way of this study was 158 head of Rehabilitation therapist and parents of the children Disabled in pusan city on April. 7, 2003 to April. 12, 2003. A statistic analysis program used generated by SPSS.The using of Rehabilitation Treatment is PT 45.8%, ST 25.4%, Multiple service 16.95, OT 5.1% and Medication 1.7%.
On the basis of the above findings, we may summarize as follows. First, it is urgently needed to expand medical staff, especially occupational therapists. Second, in order to heighten the user satisfaction, it is imperative that rehabilitation medical centers provided users with the services they need at lower costs. Third, it is necessary to establish a proper pay system for employees and to improve the working conditions. Fourth, with the adoption of a strengthened evaluation system for their management, rehabilitation medical centers should verify the use of public funds, thus increasing the level of responsibility and objectivity. Fifth, the strengthening of linkage with other medical institutions in the local community could help rehabilitation medical centers achieve specialization and avoid redundant investment by exchanging specialized personnel and high-tech equipments.
