This study was conducted to find out the current operational status of the foreign universities, sports coaching courses. The results are briefly presented as follows. First, all of the sports coaching courses run more than 1 year curriculum. And the curriculum include basically course work. Second, in a broad sense, the aim was to train professionals in the field of sports. So it has educated coaches and others who are sports-related and needed in the area as well. Third, each course has common subjects like sports psychology, sports physiology, sports pedagogy. And depending on the specificity of each course, who must submit a research project or thesis etc., The other course include an internship. Fourth, after this process, they can go into the field of sport as school team, local team and national team coach. And also career would be opened as researchers, administrators and professionals of each part. Fifth, the domestic sports coaching courses has been established as a master’s degree in the K University. It looks similar to the basic course configuration with other country course. However it should be suitably operated in accordance with demand in the domestic. And it need to improve diversely and flexibly its types of participation that more people in the field are able to learn.

현대사회에 있어서 신체활동 연구의 주요 탐구과제는 ‘신체활동을 통한 교육’으로부터 ‘인간의 기본적인 움직임’을 목표로 하는 스포츠적인 움직임을 중심으로 한 생명 활동의 개념으로 급속히 변화되고 있는 추세이다. 이러한 환경변화에 대응하기 위하여 본학회는 ‘체육’적인 요소에서 ‘스포츠’적인 요소를 중심으로 한 학문적 정체성을 견고히 하고, 정기적인 학술지 발간과 학술활동을 통해 한국스포츠츠 문화의 발전과 학문적인 발전에 기여하는데 그 목적이 있다.
