This study exploring the value on social in physical education specialists elementary school, thereby aiming to make it re-recognized the value on social in physical education specialists, who are working in the field, further to improve efficiency of organization, and to allow physical education specialists to firmly position as a professional. For this, it selected 6 people who are working for over 1 year as physical education specialist at elementary schools where are located in Gangneung-si, Donghae-si, and Samcheok-si of Gangwon-do Province in 2011, and finally selected 6 people who agreed to participation as a research subject based on purposeful sampling. Also, a researcher conducted nonstructural interview with research participants 2∼3 times. To prevent omission of interview materials, the interview contents were recorded after seeking the research participants' understanding. The following are the conclusions that were elicited by collecting the specifically described documentary data. First, a doubt is being indicated about physical education specialists' professionalism. Second, the objective of physical education specialist was said to have relationship with self-actualization. Third, physical education specialists' activity is being said to improve social adaptation. Fourth, physical education specialists' job satisfaction was indicated to be mostly high.

현대사회에 있어서 신체활동 연구의 주요 탐구과제는 ‘신체활동을 통한 교육’으로부터 ‘인간의 기본적인 움직임’을 목표로 하는 스포츠적인 움직임을 중심으로 한 생명 활동의 개념으로 급속히 변화되고 있는 추세이다. 이러한 환경변화에 대응하기 위하여 본학회는 ‘체육’적인 요소에서 ‘스포츠’적인 요소를 중심으로 한 학문적 정체성을 견고히 하고, 정기적인 학술지 발간과 학술활동을 통해 한국스포츠츠 문화의 발전과 학문적인 발전에 기여하는데 그 목적이 있다.
