u-Park means national parks with environmentally sound information networks and integrated ubiquitous services are available. u-Park is totally managed based on u-IT(Ubiquitous IT Technologies) which provides ubiquitous service through sophisticated resources of national park and establishments. The u-Park management system automatically carries out resource management, visitor management, and service management. Related data are integrated and proper park management programmes are offered based on them. u-Park management system improves efficiency of park management and enables scientifical management of carrying capacity. In this research, the concept of u-Park was studied theoretically, and important factors to be considered were suggested.

u-Park는 친환경적 정보통신망을 토대로 자원 및 시설물들이 지능화되고 그에 관련된 정보가 통합적으로 관리되는 공원을 의미한다. u-Park에서는 u-IT(Ubiquitous IT Technologies)를 기반으로 통합된 정보관리가 이루어진다. 또한 지능화된 국립공원 자원 및 시설들의 능동적 연계와 반응을 통해 유비쿼터스 서비스를 제공한다. 특히 자동으로 탐방객 수를 파악하고 탐방객에게 멀티미디어 환경해설을 제공하며, USN을 통해 자연자원의 모니터링을 실시한다. 이와 같은 방식으로 u-Park에서는 관리효율성의 증대를 도모함과 동시에 과학적인 수용력 관리가 가능해진다. 본 연구에서는 국립공원 관리분야에 대해 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 기술을 적용하는 것에 대한 이론적 고찰을 수행하였으며, 그에 따른 고려사항을 제언으로 제시하였다.
