The current paper aims to provide information in order to realize ‘better PE teaching’ in the collaboration class between the sport instructor and the class teacher by doing comparative analysis of both levels sport instructors recognize as important in relation to characteristics of good PE teaching, and levels they are actually performing after selecting total 300 out of the sport instructors of elementary schools located in metropolitan city G and province C.For this, as a result of doing comparative analysis applying t-test of the independent sample and IPA analytic technique, the following conclusions were drawn: First, the importance and performance recognized by the sport instructors in terms of good PE teaching appeared in order of collaboration-delivery-outcome-composition. Second, overall, scores of importance were higher than those of performance in characteristics of ‘good PE teaching’ as well. Third, results of IPA analysis indicate that both the importance and performance in relation to ‘good PE teaching’ according to the sport instructors showed high scores and advantages to keep good results included teaching content of considering students’ interest, strong interaction between teachers and students, fair and equal opportunities given, performance assessment associated with the class etc, and characteristics of weak points with low scores included ‘classroom environment well equipped with physical settings’ and ‘teaching making use of diverse media’etc. which needs to be managed intensively. Besides, priority characteristics which all got low scores include content to develop creative and higher-level thinking ability, giving choices and rights to students, self-regulating class atmosphere, knowledge understanding and application and evaluation etc. Finally, characteristics which are low in importance but high in performance included providing obvious instructional objectives and students’ management teaching through rules etc. Generalizing the above findings, it is necessary to constantly develop teaching methods of the PE subject and training programs for sport instructors and to keep investing in the improvement in facilities and environments suitable for the sport instructor system.
