Land form and its location at uneven topographic areas affect architectural design process and design result relatively more than other issues related to an architectural site. Also, the design process selecting site location and land form has been considered as a significant decision affecting overall design process. The recent progress of digital technology enabled a transition, 'from making form to finding form', as one of the various design method transitions. From the perspective of the transition, development for the method generating land form in conjunction with it topographic location is to realize design process reacting upon data obtained from natural environment. This study aimed to develop a method generating lowest-sloping land form in topographic landscape. Evolutionary computation method was adopted for examining various input combinations since linear algorithm was not applicable to the exploration for nearly infinite cases derived from varied location and topography. The application of implemented method to real topographic data presented feasibility to the generation of site location and land form.

비평탄지에서 대지형상과 그 위치는 건축대지와 관련된 다른 사안들에 비해 상대적으로 건축설계과정과 그 결과물에 큰 영향을 미친다. 역시 대지의 위치와 형상을 선정하기 위한 건축설계과정은 전체 설계과정에 영향을 미치는 중요한 결정으로서 고려된다. 최근의 디지털 기술의 진보는 다양한 디자인 방법의 전환들 중 ‘형태의 창조로부터 형태의 발견’이라는 전환을 가능하게 하였다. 디자인 방법의 전환의 관점에서 지형적 위치와 연관된 대지형상의 생성기법 개발은 자연환경으로부터 수집된 데이터에 반응하는 디자인 과정을 실현하기 위함이다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 지형경관으로부터 최소경사 대지형상을 생성하는 기법을 개발함에 있다. 선형적 알고리즘은 다양한 위치와 그에 따른 지형으로부터 매우 많은 수량의 경우에 대한 탐색에 적용될 수 없기 때문에 다양한 입력 조합을 탐색하기 위해 진화연산기법이 적용되었다. 구현된 기법의 실제 지형 데이터에 대한 적용은 대지의 위치와 형상을 생성함에 있어 실현성을 제시하였다.
