The purpose of this study was to verify the relationship among rowing coaches’ leadership behavior, rowing athletes’ empowerment and sport motivation, and to analyze the rowing coaches’ servant leadership, rowing athletes’ empowerment and sport motivation. The collected 224 copies of data were analyzed, and computerized by SPSS 18.0 program. To investigate the relationship among servant leadership, empowerment and sport motivation, the multiple regression and analysis of mediating effects were carried out. The results were as follows. First, the servant leadership of rowing coaches had positive effect on the empowerment of rowing athletes. Second, the servant leadership of rowing coaches had positive effect on the internal & external motivation of rowing athletes, while it had negative effect on non-motivation. Third, the empowerment of rowing athletes had positive effect on the internal & external motivation, while it had negative effect on non-motivation. Fourth, the empowerment had the positive mediating effect on the relationship between servant leadership and sport motivation.
