The Structural Analysis of Leader’s Job Characteristics, Empowerment, Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment in Water Leisure Sports -Based on Leaders who led their teams in Competitions and Training Courses-
The purpose of this study was to examine the structural relationship among leaders’ job characteristics, job satisfaction, empowerment and organizational commitment in the field of water leisure sports. The study sample included leaders of water leisure sports teams who attended competitions and training courses. Using a convenience sampling method, 251 leaders were recruited, and they completed the questionnaire. The structural equation model was used to test the relationship among subjects’ job characteristics, job satisfaction, empowerment and organizational commitment. PASW 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 were used for statistical analysis. The results of the study are as follows: First, task significance, one of job characteristics in leaders of water leisure sports teams had no effect on their job satisfaction. Second, functional diversity, one of their job characteristics had no effect on their job satisfaction. Third, task significance had positive effects on empowerment in leaders of water leisure sports teams. Fourth, functional diversity had no effect on empowerment in leaders of water leisure sports teams. Fifth, a positive relationship was found between empowerment and job satisfaction in leaders of water leisure sports teams. Sixth, no relationship was found between their empowerment and organizational commitment. Finally, a positive relationship was observed between their job satisfaction and organizational commitment.
