Poché which is defined in classical meaning refers to residual space or leftover space in the city space aspect. Also, it is understood as a tool of relationship with elements which are hidden and unrevealed other than exposed as an external shape. However, the shapes of poché represented in the contemporary architecture transcends themselves and curves in the direction of something important to be architecturalized. Especially, it will investigate how the characteristics of contemporary architecture which emphasizing individual objets can be related through the notion of poché; in this process, how this relationship with configurational characteristic possesses the status in the modern architecture; and what characteristics they have. Also, the characteristic of poché represented in the modern architecture based on these backgrounds was organized into either collage, potential, or movement. As detailed examples for those, the works by D. Libeskind, R. Koolhaas and FOA were analyzed and concrete characteristics of poché for above are described.

고전적인 의미에서 정의되는 포쉐는 도시공간적인 측면에서 ‘잔여공간’ 또는 ‘잉여공간’으로 존재하는 것으로, 이는 외부의 형상으로 드러나는 것 이외에 감추어지고 드러나지 않은 요소들의 관계맺음의 도구로 이해된다. 그러나 현대 건축에서 재현되는 포쉐의 형상은 그것들 자체를 초월하여 중요한 어떤 것을 향한 방향으로 굴절시키고 건축화 되는 특징을 지니고 있다. 특히 개별적인 오브제를 강조하고 있는 현대 건축의 특징들이 포쉐를 통해서 어떻게 관계맺음을 할 수 있으며, 이 과정에서 포쉐의 형상학적 특성과 관계맺음이 현대 건축에서 어떠한 위상을 차지하고 있으며, 또한 어떠한 특징을 지니고 있는지를 밝힌다. 그리고 이러한 이론을 배경을 현대 건축에서 재현된 포쉐의 특징을 각각 꼴라쥬, 잠재성 그리고 움직임으로 정리하고, 이에 대한 구체적인 사례로 다니엘 리베스킨트, 렘 콜하스 그리고 FOA의 작품을 제시하고 이에 대한 구체적인 포쉐의 성격을 서술한다.
