In our society today, the numbers of multicultural families are rapidly increasing as well as the numbers of incidents of domestic violence. Based on a Women Family Council􀁳s research on domestic violence, multicultural families showed the violent incidence rate of 47.7% while Korean families recorded that of 40.3%. That is, the violence in the multicultural families is 7.4% higher rate than that in Korean families. Especially, abuse from spouses occurred 3.5 times more in multicultural families than Korean families. As shown on the research, wives who immigrated to Korea are experiencing a roller-coast ride in their marriage. In addition, some have already gone through divorce and become labeled as illegal immigrants, who are in jeopardy of their lives. Therefore, a plan to support, protect, and prevent the situation is crucial. Not only the government should be aware of this, but also local churches and other Christian officials should work together in an effort to prevent the situation. We need to start counting on client-centered Christian counseling for multicultural families so that they can acknowledge God􀁳s presence in their everyday-life basis. This research suggested a specific measure for how a Christian counseling can be applied to help the hurt wives and can spark their faith. Looking forward, we need to produce more of qualified Christian counselors for multicultural families and continue to conduct in-depth studies.
