The Case Study of ‘Action Research’ for Shopping-Streets Customer Development : Joint Association of Wakamatsu Central Shopping-Streets in Wakamatsu Ward, City of Kitakyushu お객양육てによる상점가활성화に관する실천적연구 -북구주시 약송구 약송중심상점가련합회を사례として-
It has been noted that shopping-streets have been on the decline for quite some time. When discussing “shopping street revitalization activities”, the use of the word “activity” seems an overstatement. Debates, reflecting various points of view, on how to revitalize shopping streets have been going on throughout Japan. At the center of these debates is finding countermeasures for vacant shops. One argument is that the elimination of vacant shops will add to the attraction of shopping streets. If we consider the fundamental revitalization of shopping streets, we cannot wait for shop keepers to regain confidence. Consumers who are local residents should consider their own needs and propose actions and improvements to add to the attractiveness of the shopping streets. It is necessary that the revitalization of shopping streets be based on feedback from local residents and that it reflects the characteristics and atmosphere of the area. Revitalization difficulty is caused by local consumers not having a reason to visit the shopping streets. Therefore the storekeepers made plans that would create a reason for consumers to come to shopping-streets. The author proposed that the shopping streets become a museum in which storekeepers exhibited pictures drawn by children in the store windows. The consumers made plans that would make reasons for consumers to come to shopping-streets. As a result, the shopping streets were enlivened. Future functions of shopping streets would be to mutually strengthen the weak points and take advantage of the strong points of various organizations. Furthermore, it is not the role of each store to initiate attempts at attracting customers. Shopping streets should act as an executive office for enabling residents to take actions by themselves.
본 학회는 2003년부터 동북아 경상연구회의 회원들을 중심으로 동북아 지역의 학회참석을 계기로 한중일 관광학회의 중요성을 인식하게 되었습니다. 특히 우리와 인접국인 일본, 중국의 동북아 지역은 관광인적교류에서 중요한 국가이며, 상대국 또한 그 중요성을 간과할 수 없는 현실입니다. 따라서 본 학회는 한중일 3국에 학회지부회를 두어 3국의 학자들을 중심으로 관광연구를 활성화하는데 있습니다. 본 학회의 사업내용을 보면, 첫째, 연2회 이상 학술발표회를 개최합니다. 특히, 학술발표회는 동북아지역의 인적교류확대방안, 동북아지역의 산관학의 협력강화방안에 관한 사업 내용을 중심으로 연구발표회를 개최합니다. 둘째, 동북아지역의 연구자들을 중심으로 한국어, 영어, 중국어, 일어를 사용한 동북아 관광연구저널을 연 2회 이상 발행하여 동북아지역의 국제저널로서의 위상정립을 합니다. 셋째, 한,중,일 우수연구자의 저서를 상대국언어로 번역출판하며 한,중,일 연구자들을 중심으로 전문저서를 공동저술 합니다.
