- The purpose of this study is to analyze the changes of exterior designs by comparing apartments in district unit plan area with the others. In addition, the purpose of the study is to propose reference data for developing new design guidelines of district unit plan and for planning apartment exterior design of a new housing complex. The process of this study is as follows: (1) To extract analysis items on the exterior designs of apartment buildings, this study investigated the guideline of district unit plan for Nam-ak new city about facade design factors. (2) To analyze the changes of apartment exterior designs, this study compared 20 housing complexes in Nam-ak new city with 24 housing complexes of the other areas. (3) To analyze the application status of district unit plan guidelines and the characteristics of apartment exterior designs, this study investigated sample housing complexes about facade design factors such as block types, variations of building height, shapes of roof, shapes of the top floor, forms of piloti, types of facade articulation and means of facade articulation. (4) On the base of those analyses, this study proposed some directions for the improvement of district unit plan guidelines.

- 본 연구는 건축물의 외관계획에 지대한 영향을 미치고 있는 지구단위계획의 역할에 주목하고, 신시가지 개발을 위한 지구단위계획으로 계획구역 내 31개 공동주택용지 중에 20개 단지가 준공되어 사용 중인 남악신도시의 공동주택단지를 분석연구 대상으로 선정하여, 외관과 관련된 규정의 세부내용과 단지별 적용실태를 조사하고 비교군의 24개 아파트단지들과 비교분석하여 외관변화양상과 외관계획의 특성을 파악하였으며, 아파트 외관과 관련된 지구단위계획의 개선 및 보완 방향을 제시하였다.
