The aim of this study was to provide basic materials for spatial configuration of specific treatment parts in the College Dental Hospital. Contents about unit space of each specialized department in five College Dental Hospitals were deduced as follows. First, the character of specific treatment part, requirement room and special treatment room's situation. The biggest department of area ratio in the component of treatment of college dental hospital is oral cavity and maxillofacial surgery (16.7%), and the smallest department of area ratio is prevention dental clinic(5.12%). Second, unit space was formed by medical characteristics. Relation between each department and requirement space was investigated and the result showed relation between department of oral and maxillofacial surgery and a central operation room, between treatment parts of prosthodontics and a central dental laboratory, between department of orthodontics and model making room, between department of pediatric dentistry and isolated clinic, between department of conservative dentistry and a working length room and a minor operation room, between department of oral medicine and a laboratory and a physiotherapy room, between department of oral maxillofacial radiology and X-ray studios, between department of oral pathology and ahistopathology laboratory, between department of preventive dentistry and education PR room. Third, the spatial pattern by medical characteristics was mixed with common types in the Hospital, including an independent type which is considerate of patients, a semi-independent type which reduces the user's movements, and an all-in-one type which is installed in narrow space
