The Revised Test Anxiety Scale(RTA) has been known to measure multiple dimensions of test anxiety, namely tension, worry, bodily symptom, and test-irrelevant thinking well. The current study examined the factor structure of a Korean version of the RTA using confirmatory factor analysis(CFA) on the responses collected from a sample of university students(N=405). The CFA results indicated that both a correlated four-factor model and a hierarchical four-factor model of the Korean version of the RTA had a relatively acceptable fit after three pairs of error terms were allowed to correlate with each other in the models. The chi-square difference test result indicated that the former was better than the latter. The revised correlated four-factor model consists of tension, worry, bodily symptom, and test-irrelevant thinking factors. In addition, the instrument and its four subscales have good or adequate internal consistency. In conclusion, the results provide general support for the four dimensions of test anxiety as assessed with the Korean version of the RTA.

개정된 시험불안척도는 시험불안의 네 가지 차원, 즉 긴장, 걱정, 신체증상과 시험 무관 사고를 잘 측정하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구는 한국판 개정된 시험불안척도(Revised Test Anxiety Scale, RTA)의 요인구조를 파악하기 위하여, 405명의 대학생들을 대상으로 한국판 RTA를 실시하여 수집된 자료에 대해 확인적 요인분석을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 선행 연구(Benson & EI-Zahhar, 1994)에서 지지된 RTA의 요인구조에서 3쌍의 문항들의 오차항 간의 상관을 허용한 수정된 상관 4요인모형과 위계적 4요인모형 둘 다 수집된 자료에 비교적 잘 부합되는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이 두 모형을 직접 비교 검증하기 위하여 카이자승차이검증을 수행한 결과, 수정된 상관 4요인모형이 더 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 이 모형은 긴장, 걱정, 신체증상과 시험 무관 사고라는 4개의 요인들로 이루어져 있다. 이에 더하여, 한국판 RTA의 전체 척도 및 네 가지 하위척도의 내적 일치도는 우수하거나 적절하였다. 결론적으로, 한국판 RTA로 측정된 시험불안은 긴장, 걱정, 신체증상 및 시험 무관 사고라는 다차원으로 구성되어 있다고 하겠다.
