This study intended to hypothesize and verify the effect of difficulties of emotional regulation as mediating variables in the relation between parents' parenting behaviors and adolescents' worry. As for the research subjects, there were 350 students selected in total, 98 male students and 252 female students from middle and high schools located in Gyeonggi Province and Incheon Metropolitan City. The data was analyzed by using structural equation modeling, and the results of the research can be summarized as follows: Firstly, it was found there was a significant positive correlation between parents' negative parenting behaviors and adolescents' worry. In addition, it was found there was a significant positive correlation between difficulties in emotional regulation and adolescents' worry. Moreover, it was found there was a significant positive correlation between parents' negative parenting behaviors and adolescents' difficulties in emotional regulation. Secondly, it was found that parents' negative parenting behaviors have significant effect on adolescents' worry through the medium of difficulties in emotional regulation, and adolescents' difficulties in emotional regulation were found to completely mediate between parents' negative parenting behaviors and adolescents' worry. As a result, this study contributed to understanding worry that adolescents psychologically experience often times, further providing basic data needed for counseling juveniles to verify the effect of parents' parenting behaviors on adolescents' worry and broaden understanding about their difficulties in emotional regulation. Moreover, it is regarded as meaningful that this study contributed to confirming the necessity of developing an emotional regulation improvement program which learning or intentional intervention is possible as well as the necessity of educating parents that adolescents' difficulties in emotional regulation have mediating effect in the relation between parents' parenting behaviors and adolescents' worry and that parents' parenting behaviors have effect on their children's difficulties in emotional regulation while guiding adolescents in a high level of worry.
