The purpose of this study was to know the effects of participants’ teaching effectiveness according to coaching styles. We wanted to investigate that coaching style of golf instructor affected both achievement goal orientation and teaching effectiveness. The researches of this study are summarized as follows. First, what effect does coaching style of golf instructor have on participants’ achievement goal orientation? Second, what effect does coaching style of golf instructor have on participants’ teaching effectiveness? The research subjects were obtained from samples of customers (n=300) who were registered at golf driving ranges in Korea. Among samples in 300 people, 274 copies of effective samples were analysed. As a result, democratic behavior and positive compensation in coaching style of golf instructor significantly affected participants’ task-orientation. Social behavior among them significantly affected participants’ self-consciousness. Training and instruction behavior and democratic behavior among them significantly affected participants’ improvement and satisfaction of skills, but autocratic behavior significantly affected negative effect of participants. Therefore, coaching style of golf instructor affected both achievement goal orientation and teaching effectiveness of participants in golf.
