The purpose of this study focuses on intermarriage families and a comparative analysis of the Ego-identity of a child from an international marriage of multicultural youth.. The research results are as follows. In aspect of ego-identity based on human-sociological characteristics, there is no significant difference on gender, school grade, school type, racial formation of parents, national belonging. In case of academic grade, the better the record is, the higher the tendency is in subjectivity, goal-orientation and initiative as the factors of ego-identity. Fluent Korean language skills have considerable influence on self-receptive. The number of multicultural youth who are in elementary, middle, and high schools is constantly increasing and multicultural youth should be grown as potential leaders with competitive power in global society. What we need to prepare for multicultural society are to research on the actual condition, social support and public interest of multicultural youth.

본 연구는 국제결혼가정을 중심으로 한 다문화 청소년들의 자아정체감의 차이에 대해 알아 보고자 하였다. 연구를 통해서 다음과 같은 사실을 알 수 있었다. 인구사회학적 특성에 따른 자아정체감 차이에서는 성별과 학교급, 학교형태, 부모의 민족적 구성, 국가소속감에 따른 자아정체감은 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 학업성적에서는 주체성과 목표지향성, 주도성에서 학업성적이 높을수록 자아정체감이 높게 나타나는 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 한국어실력이 좋을수록 자기수용성이 높은 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 초․중․고에 재학 중인 다문화청소년의 수는 매년 꾸준히 증가하고 있으며 앞으로 글로벌 사회의 경쟁력을 지닌 잠재적 리더로서 이들을 성장 시켜야 한다. 그러므로 우리 사회가 다문화 시대를 대비하기 위해서는 다문화청소년들에 대한 정확한 실태조사와 사회적 지원과 관심이 필요하다.
